Step  Preparation

Preparation is the key for any home renovation project especially for popcorn removal.

Before start need to remove all furniture from the room, some furniture is extremely heavy and can be left and covered by plastic.

Floor protection – roll out floor protection paper, if you have new floor or soft wood floor better to use ram cardboard.

Also cover light fixture or hire electrician to remove it. All vents must be covered with plastic or painters tape.

Very important step lightly scrape painted popcorn ceiling with 4-6 inch scraper.

Aprox scraping time for room size 10 by 10 takes 10-15 min.

1.      Use garden sprayer with hot water + vinegar or EZStriper and moisten your popcorn ceiling. (it is highly recommended moisten 3by 3 square at a time and let it soak for 12-15 min ) With 4-6-inch scraper remove the popcorn ceiling texture, catch material in a plastic bag for easy cleanup. (note: not every painted textured ceiling coming off easily)
